![]() The bracket costs $21.95, but it is worth it. I know I did, but TightSpot thought of that and offers a mounting bracket that allows you to use the sight and quiver combo with ease. Some may find an issue with mounting the quiver to the bow when you shoot a sight like the HHA Sports single pin series. You simply have to do the opposite and loosen the screws to accommodate the shaft diameter. The same goes for really fat arrows, like crossbow bolts. The crew at TightSpot was super helpful in sharing how to adjust the quiver spacers to get the arrows to fit here. Smaller diameter arrows (like the ones I shoot) can be tricky to keep snug in the quiver, but it’s not that difficult to adjust the screws and spacers to fit them. Just loosen up the screws a bit, slide the two carbon poles up or down to get it where you want it and then tighten them up again. You can also adjust the quiver up and down to center it on your bow by the use of the middle frame. Still, you can fine tune it to have the weight of the quiver forward or back depending on your shooting style. I personally like having my quiver in a certain spot, so I use a stabilizer, too. One of the coolest features is you can adjust it forward and back to eliminate the need for a stabilizer, should you choose that route. You can move it closer to the bow itself which drastically reduces torque. You can take it off on a stalk, in a tree stand, or when practicing. The quiver is tough and stands up to everything I have thrown at it. Rocks, sand, and the occasional truck bed were no match for the durability. I am pretty rough on my gear and when I lay my bow down, typically it is on the quiver. It took a few years, but I finally came to my senses and got a TightSpot. What I needed to do was to save up and purchase one quiver I would own for life. I went the hard way and purchased cheaper, lower quality quivers. I didn’t have it at that time and I was a bit short-sighted. It retails for $162.95 and not everyone is going to have that in their budget. ![]() Now, I remember a few years back, when I first heard about TightSpot, I had a few disagreements with others using this particular quiver on their archery rig. You get the best of both worlds with the TightSpot. There are plenty of other bowhunters who prefer to remove it while hunting. Many of us hunt with our quiver mounted to our bow. They have constructed an incredible quiver that, if set up properly, eliminates vibration in multiple ways. Need I say more? I interviewed TightSpot owner, Joe Jacks, in 2013 and he explains why it is made in the U.S.A. With so many people asking me about quivers lately, now is the right time to share my thoughts on this top-notch, must have quiver.įirst off, the TightSpot Quiver is Made in the U.S.A. Whenever you see a positive and negative sign next to each other, you should read it as a negative. So 6 + -7 is the same thing as 6 - 7, and they both equal -1. When you combine a negative number with a positive one, the sum will be less than the original number-so you might as well be subtracting. This is because the plus sign simply lets you know you're combining two numbers. Adding negative numbersīelieve it or not, this is the exact same problem we just solved! Because the absolute value of -7 is greater than the distance between 6 and 0, our answer ends up being less than 0. Because -7 is a negative number, our answer will be one too: -1. Which number has the highest absolute value? In this case, it's -7. In this case, it means solving for 7 - 6, which is 1. Just find the difference between the two numbers. While the number line makes it easy to picture this problem, there's also a trick you could have used to solve it.įirst, ignore the negative signs for a moment. Even though 7 is larger than 6, you can subtract it in the exact same way as any other number, as long as you understand there are numbers smaller than 0. Let's take a look at this problem: 6 - 7. When you're adding and subtracting negative numbers, it helps to think about a number line, at least at first. There are just a few special rules to keep in mind. Using negative numbers in arithmetic is fairly simple. However, |-10| is bigger than |-6| because -10 has a greater distance from 0 than -6. Something important to remember: even though negative numbers get smaller as they get further from 0, their absolute value gets bigger. This is read "the absolute value of negative three is three." We represent taking the absolute value of a number with two straight vertical lines | |. Remember how we said 4 and -4 were the same distance from 0? That means 4 and -4 have the same absolute value. When we talk about the absolute value of a number, we are talking about that number's distance from 0 on the number line. 2 is smaller than 1, and -7 is smaller than -2. On this number line, the farther left a number is, the smaller it is. We think of positive and negative numbers as being opposites because they are on opposite sides of the number line.Īnother important thing to know about negative numbers is that they get smaller the farther they get from 0. Everything to the right of zero is positive and everything to the left of zero is negative. You can think of a number line as having three parts: a positive direction, a negative direction, and zero. Take a look at 4 and -4 on the number line: We can write -4 on its own precisely because it doesn't mean subtract 4. You couldn't-because there's nothing to subtract it from. The minus sign doesn't mean you should think of a number like -4 as subtract four. Understanding negative numbersĪs you might have noticed, you write negative numbers with the same symbol you use in subtraction: the minus sign ( - ). So while -7 is negative seven, 7 is positive seven, or simply seven. Watch the video below to learn more about negative numbers.Īny number without a minus sign in front of it is considered to be a positive number, meaning a number that's greater than zero. Not only will I have no money in the bank-I'll actually have less than none because I owe the bank money. If I overdraw my account (take out more money than I actually have), my new bank balance will be a negative number. For instance, in finances negative numbers can be used to show debt. You can also use negative numbers for more abstract ideas. For instance, the temperature on this thermometer is -20, or twenty degrees below zero. For example, have you ever been outside on a really cold winter day when the temperature was below zero? Any temperature below zero is a negative number. However, there are instances in real life where you use numbers that are less than zero. It's difficult to imagine having less than nothing in this case. For instance, if you have 0 pieces of chocolate left in your candy bowl, you have no candy. ![]() After all, we often think of zero as meaning nothing. It might seem a little odd to say that a number is less than 0. For instance, -7 is a number that is seven less than 0. en/algebra-topics/exponents/content/ What are negative numbers?Ī negative number is any number that is less than zero. ![]() Generally, a lower RHR indicates more efficient heart function, though RHRs that are lower than 50 bpm can be a sign of an underlying heart condition or disease. Typical adult resting heart rates (RHR) are commonly cited to range from 60-100 beats per minute (bpm), though there is some argument that normal RHRs actually fall within the range of 50-90 bpm. Some of the more notable measurements of heart rate include resting heart rate and maximum heart rate, which are often used to estimate specific target heart rate zones to determine different levels of exercise. Heart rate can be measured in different ways, from using devices such as heart rate monitors, to simply looking at a watch while measuring pulse at some peripheral point such as the wrist or neck. Measuring and Estimating Heart Rate and Heart Rate Zones: The use of both in training can help a person improve performance, avoid over-training, as well as track progress and fitness over time. ![]() Pace and heart rate have a positive correlation higher pace corresponds to higher heart rate. Pace is a rate of activity or movement, while heart rate is measured as the number of times that a person's heart contracts over a minute. Typical Races and World Record Paces Category The following calculator can be used to estimate a person's finish time based on the time and distance covered in a race at the point the calculator is used. For example, if a person runs from point A to point B, then to point C, records the time at each point, and subsequently determines the distance between those points (using many available websites, applications, or maps), the multipoint calculator can determine how fast the person traveled between each pair of points, allowing use for training purposes a person can run the same route (or distance) repeatedly and track pace over that given route, enabling comparison of times between each segment (or lap) to identify areas for potential improvement. The following calculator can determine the pace of segments of a run (or other activity) for those with access to the time at intermittent points during the run.
